In these moments time stood still - Wall Clock

Hello amigos!

Today's post focused on this mixed media wall clock that I created recently. I wanted to use multiple techniques for this one with lots of texture, crackle, decoupage and vibrant play of colours. So I started by applying light coat of gesso to prep the canvas. Then I covered the whole canvas with tissue paper with th help of mod podge and then applied another coat of gesso. Then to create more interest, I applied texture with a flower and checkered stencils.

Then I sprayed blue and pink sprays followed with dabbing of acrylic paints in darker and lighter shades of blue and pink.

The flowers are handmade and I have used distress inks with lot of water to give the faded effect. I have creased the petals by placing them on a thick pen and pinching using my thumb and index finger. I have layered multiple sizes to give a fuller look to the flowers with a pearl as the flower centre.

But I wasn't satisfied with just placing the plain wooden piece with numbers serving as a clock base so I went ahead and decoupaged the number clock embellishment with a tissue paper with butterfly print. Then I applied Deco Art media crackle paste and left it to dry naturally to get beautiful tiny cracks. I distressed the piece lightly with vintage photo to enhance the cracks. Then, I also stamped a chain design randomly using the jet black archival ink. This completed the clock base.

Lastly, I embossed the main sentiment. Once, I was satisfied with the over all placement of flowers and clock, I finished the layout with a few tiny pink and blue punched butterflies and a vintage lady cabochon.

Sharing few more close ups of the layout. Hope you like this creation and do share your views in the comments below.
